About Our Opportunity
As the Tangible Capital Program Analyst, you will serve as a financial advisor for the Capital Infrastructure Program administered and managed by the Department of Public Works.
Your key responsibility will be to provide council, advice, analysis, and assistance to senior management, capital program staff, client departments, and school boards on all financial matters related to capital spending for both departments. You will manage the capital approvals and commitments in accordance with legislation and audit requirements.
You will work directly with the Director / Executive Director of Finance and will provide support and analysis to the Program Directors and the Deputy Ministers office as required.
As the Tangible Capital Program Analyst, you will report to the Manager, Capital Projects.
Primary Accountabilities
Qualifications and Experience
This may be the right opportunity for you if you have a bachelors degree with 5 years of related experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience. An accounting designation (CPA) is preferred.
You are guided by Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as well as the Public Sector Accounting Board (PSAB) when formulating decisions and providing advice. You possess exceptional communication (written and verbal) and time management skills with a strong attention to detail, able to produce accurate reports in a timely manner. You have previous experience making decisions that support and align with the long-term capital plans of your organization.
