Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION :

UVAD is looking for an individual to join our team to help support the field operation of next generation Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) platforms. This position may include travel to domestic or international sites including but not limited to United States, Brazil, Peru, Chile and others for extended periods of time for the purpose of commercial or testing campaigns of UAVs. This position will support the activities of UAV crew to execute successful flight missions. Other responsibilities may be designated to the candidate to help facilitate the company’s business objectives including periods of office work in preparation of operations or other business objectives.

REPONSIBILITES AND DUTIES BACKGROUND :

Field Work - This role involves travel for various domestic and international UAV field operations. Field deployments may last several days or weeks at a time. Operations include UAV geophysical surveying, mineral exploration, GIS mapping, environmental or security monitoring, UAV product testing, military range testing, and specialty client missions. These will entail :

  • UAV & Ground Control Station (GCS) pre / post operational procedures
  • Flight planning, piloting, and crew support
  • UAV mechanical and electrical assembly and maintenance
  • Use of specialized instrumentation and electronics
  • Geophysical and geographical information system data analysis, handling, and processing, and quality control.

Shop Work - Other responsibilities during non-operational periods will include in-shop support for :

  • UAV operational planning
  • Support for UAV inventory maintenance and assembling
  • Equipment / instrument quality control inspections
  • Inventory management support
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as reasonably assigned from time to time by the Employer
  • QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Enrolled or graduated with relevant technical program or work experience
  • Candidates with GIS, Geomatics, or Geoscience background are considered an asset
  • Advanced RPAS pilot license considered an asset
  • Good physical condition for outdoor field work, including lifting 30lb equipment.
  • Willing and able to work in remote locations for extended periods of time.
  • Class 5 Drivers License
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Power Point.
  • The ideal candidate would have an aptitude for travel, geophysical surveying work, UAV operations / airborne sensors operations.
  • The candidate will need to demonstrate detail orientation to their work, as well as working well in a team dynamic.
  • The candidate must be willing to learn in-office and on the job.
