Chief Aranazhi School & Waka Mne Elementary1 Position : Inclusive Education CoordinatorAlexis Education Department is looking for an Inclusive Education Coordinator for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year. We are looking for a coordinator who can build on the current strengths of our school. Alexis Education is focused on providing a balanced education through the delivery of approved curriculum that is grounded in traditional Alexis Nakota Sioux teachings.Our student population is approximately 250 from K to 12, our Native language is Nakota (Stoney) and we are located an hour northwest of the City of Edmonton and 30 minutes from the City of Spruce Grove.The successful applicant will begin duties at the commencement of the 2024-2025 school year; a competitive salary based on qualification, skill and experience will be paid.Applications will remain open until a suitable candidate is found. Application reviews will begin as soonas possible.Major Responsibilities include : ? Able to develop Individual Program Plans (IPP) for students who have exceptional needs.? Provides case management services for students with exceptional needs.? Provides instruction consistent with the students’ Individualized Program Plan (IPP), utilizing strategies, methods, and materials appropriate to the learner’s abilities, needs, and learning style.? Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium and long range planning.? Develops materials and behavioral management strategies.? Plans and supervises the education assistants’ assignments and activities.? Modifies the general education curriculum, if appropriate, in conjunction with the general education staff.? Champion Stoney language / culture revitalization and curriculum infusion.? Support school-parent / guardian-community engagement.? Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative-decision making.? Promote differentiated instruction to meet diversity in learning needs.Qualifications : ? Must be able to provide a TQS? Must hold or be able to obtain an Alberta Teaching Certificate.? Qualified newly graduating individuals will be considered.? Must possess a Bachelor's degree in the field of Special Education from an accredited institution;? Must be respectful of Nakota Sioux Traditions, Knowledge and Customs;? Preference is given to those with experience working with First Nations Children and Families;? Must have a clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector check.
