What is the opportunity?
Reporting to the Director, Technology Strategy. This position is primary responsible for supporting strategic initiatives as part of the broader T&O Strategy & Innovation team mandates.
Initiatives will include research of competitive intelligence, conduct comparative assessments, and develop thought leadership that will inform decision making for our technology leaders and support broader strategy and innovation development.
You will also have experience in defining clear approaches, and frameworks for research / insights in addition to analyzing implications for technology and business teams.
What will you do?
- Structuring and developing leading edge insights via market research, including competitive intel, baselining, technology assessment, and market trending analysis focused on technology
- Define approaches and roadmaps for strategic projects or publications to enable thought provoking insights for T&O executives.
This includes, but may not be limited to, defining the scope, storyboard, approach, success criteria, stakeholder engagement models, and solution alternatives
- Provide subject matter advice and insights to T&O leadership teams to optimize and drive business / technology performance and accelerate technology experimentations and / or adoptions
- Work with internal partners across RBC to identify opportunities for collaboration on research and insights, and develop contents to effectively communicate across T&O
- Build and manage relations with external partners, including research agencies, venture capital, consultancies, academia etc.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have :
- Proven experience in executing strategic projects with a focus on technology strategy
- Ability to conduct market research and data analysis, and quickly synthesize insights to develop relevant implications
- Advanced proficiency in developing PowerPoint contents and tailoring message for an executive audience
- Highly motivated to continuously learn new concepts, skills, and knowledge
Nice-to-have :
- Previous management / strategy consulting experience with a consulting firm
- Understanding of technology concepts - AI / ML, Data, SDLC, DevOps, Cloud Computing, IT Infrastructure etc.
- Technical background in areas such as software development, AI / ML, LLM, or other similar experiences.
