Compensation Range : $27.98 To $35.09 Plus bonus

Job Purpose
The Lead Lineman is responsible to lead a small crew in the placement of aerial fiber cable and all facets of outside plant construction. The Lead Lineman will perform and provide guidance / training to junior linemen in placing aerial strand and cable by climbing poles, using ladders, and operating bucket or line trucks. The lineman may also place buried cable or run drops as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform all duties pertaining to telecommunication line placement and constructionSafely operate and maintain aerial bucket / line trucks, reel trailers, lashers and associated eqptInstall hardware, strand, anchors, down guys, overhead guys, etc.Install fiber and coax cables from pole to pole, manholes, into buildings, etc.Follow all safety requirements and actively promote safe practices within the crewPerform construction duties while on a ladderClimb poles at different heights in order to perform construction dutiesRespond to corrective network problems, performing effective and efficient problem analysis, rapid troubleshooting diagnosis and prompt repair of cable / hardware / equipment to ensure service restoral objectives are metAccurately prepare and complete concise reports relating to repair data : network location(s), materials used, time, etc.Provide guidance and training to junior linemen regarding safety precautions and procedures as well as technical scopeAssign tasks to junior linemen and coordinate line crew activitiesOTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Read maps and procedures to complete daily workPlan and implement preventative maintenance routines to ensure network standards of performance are metEnsure required information is reported to the correct parties in a timely, accurate and professional mannerMaintain and track tool and material inventory as assignedOther duties as assigned by the Field ManagerQualifications
