Accounts Payable Specialist

We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in North York, Ontario. As an Accounts Payable Specialist, your role will involve managing vendor invoices, ensuring their prompt processing, and reconciling vendor statements. You will also play a crucial role in maintaining our organizational policies and procedures in a detail oriented and ethical manner. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity.

Responsibilities :

• Manage the accurate and timely processing of vendor invoices.
• Undertake vendor statement reconciliation and follow up on overdue items.
• Handle inquiries from vendors and internal contacts promptly and in a detail oriented manner.
• Ensure approval of all invoices and adherence to deadlines.
• Assist in the execution of closing procedures at the end of the month and year.
• Oversee the verification and matching of purchase orders, obtaining signoffs or explanations for any discrepancies.
• Ensure the processing of Accounts Payable billings based on project cost-based allocation is timely and accurate.
• Adhere strictly to our confidentiality agreements, code of ethics, and other organizational policies.
• Uphold detail orientation, honesty, discretion, and sound judgment in line with our values and ethics.
• Proficiency in Account Coding is required.
• Mastery of Accounting Software Systems is essential.
• Prior experience using ADP - Financial Services is needed.
• Knowledge and experience with Concur is necessary.
• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning is required.
• Ability to perform Accounting Functions effectively is crucial.
• Extensive understanding of Accounts Payable (AP) is necessary.
• Expertise in Accrual Accounting is essential.
• Auditing skills are highly desirable.
• Experience with Automated Clearing House (ACH) is required.
