Our client is seeking an intermediate LAA to assist two of their lawyers in primarily insolvency and restructuring, general commercial litigation, and insurance defense (non-ICBC).
In this role your responsibilities will include :
- Maintaining efficient file management and bring forward system
- Preparing and drafting various correspondence and legal documents from dictation and precedent document
- Scheduling trials, applications, hearings and other matters
- Performing PPR, LTO, tax and similar searches
- Preparing lists of documents
- Handling incoming and outgoing (e)mail
- Answering client telephone calls and communicating with opposing counsel
- Preparation of bills
Here is what you bring to the team :
- 5- 10 years of relevant work experience
- Understanding of insolvency procedures is an asset
- Graduation from a legal administrative assistant program
- Client-centered approach
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- Proficient with BC Online
- Excellent communication skills
The salary range for this position is $60, $75, and is dependent on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Also offered is a competitive salary and benefits package, including an RRSP Matching Program.
