Calling all Procurement Professionals! My Burnaby based client is seeking a Procurement Manager to join their team. This is a newly created role.

This position will report directly to the President. My client is within the wholesale building materials industry and is a well established having been around for 60 plus years.

As the Procurement Manger you will lead a team of two individuals and be the go to person for a variety of other employees as the knowledge expert.

This is an opportunity for someone who can wear multiple hats, think strategically, inspire and mentor other team members, operate in a fast-paced environment with a critical and analytical and business mindset.

Some of the key responsibilities include :

  • Direct and oversee the Company’s purchasing functions including the supervision of all procurement activities, processes, and procedures
  • Analyze price proposals, financial reports, and other data and information to determine selling prices.
  • Analyze and review trade policies, and other trade-related information to determine impact on import / export initiatives.
  • Establish and implement purchasing standards, controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Implement best practices in purchasing and supplier management.
  • Develop and maintain a vendor base to create and sustain a competitive advantage, utilizing global market exploitation.

  • Strategy Support
  • Establish and maintain measurable performance metrics.
  • Maintain and review requisitions and records of items purchased, costs, delivery, product, performance, and inventories
  • Work closely with various departments to drive product design, development, marketing, and launch processes.

  • Supply Chain Designation (preferred)
  • 7 plus years experience in materials / purchasing or supply chain management
  • Progressive experience in materials / purchasing or supply chain management and proven leadership abilities
  • Previous experience in a similar industry highly advantageous
