Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and nurturing relationships with our key clients, ensuring their needs are met while driving business growth. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a background in technology sales, and a proven track record in account management. You will play a crucial role in developing strategies to enhance client satisfaction and retention.

Reports to :  Chief Revenue Officer

Key Relationships :  Marketing Team, Sales Team & Finance Team

Base Pay : $90,000.00-$115,000.00 per year

Role Purpose / Summary :  As the Key Account Manager, you will lead the sales and promotions with large national and regional cannabis retail chains to rapidly grow revenue and sales of Decibel branded products (Qwest, General Admission & Vox).

Decibel operates a processing and manufacturing facility in Calgary, Alberta and three cultivation facilities in Creston, British Columbia, Battleford, Saskatchewan and Chatham Ontario.

Key Responsibilities :

Key Account Management

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with national and regional Ontario key accounts.
  • Sell in distribution of Decibel products and programming to support rate of sale.
  • Negotiate and establish mutually beneficial agreements with key retailers to promote and distribute our products.
  • Collaborate with sales team and marketing team to align retail programming to create impactful programming and brand execution.
  • Shared ownership with CRO over total channel strategy, investment & brand activation & programming.

Strategic Planning

  • Develop and implement comprehensive strategic account plans, including specific initiatives for key accounts.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Sales Performance

  • Analyze sales data to identify opportunities for growth and implement strategies to address challenges.
  • Working with commercial planning team to highlight volume and market share trends to better inform forecasting, identify gaps and plans to fuel growth of Decibel brands in large chains in Ontario.
  • Monthly reporting on investments with retail chains and optimize investments for best ROI
  • Cross-functional Collaboration :

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, field sales, and commercial planning, to ensure seamless execution of partnership strategies.
  • Provide feedback and insights from key accounts partners to inform product development and marketing strategies.
  • Customer Engagement

  • Act as the primary point of contact for retail chains in Ontario to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Ambassador of dB brands at retailer head office and store level to ensure our brands are.

  • Qualifications :

  • Experience with Cannabis industry is required
  • 5+ years of sales experience
  • 2+ years of key account management experience
  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in business or marketing preferred but not required
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills; able to quickly identify and prioritize key opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prospect, negotiate and close new business;
  • Key competencies :

  • Detail orientated & a team player
  • Takes initiative and ability to manage multiple complex customer relationships
  • Strong communicator and writer
  • Ability to use advanced features of Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams, OneDrive and Outlook
  • Desire to learn and work hard!
