What Is the Opportunity?
Travelers is seeking a Business Systems Analyst with Guidewire experience preferably specialized with Guidewire PolicyCenter in the insurance industry to join our organization as we grow and transform our Guidewire Technology landscape.
Under limited supervision, the Senior Business Systems Analyst is responsible for working with stakeholders to elicit, analyze, specify and validate business and solution requirements to meet business needs.
Must be able to bring together a diverse stakeholder group, drive consensus and create a shared understanding between the customer community and the solution delivery team while maintaining alignment with Business and IT Strategies.
Using knowledge of business goals, help translate strategies and initiatives into action plans with required deliverables.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst is able to independently transition to unfamiliar business and systems domains. This job typically acts as a team lead for analysts on medium to large sized initiatives.
The Senior Business Systems Analyst provides direction, coaching and mentoring to less experienced analysts.
What Will You Do?
- Acts as the liaison between business stakeholders and IT delivery ensuring priorities are aligned and business capabilities and objectives are being realized through delivery execution and in preparation for and during Increment Planning.
- Collaborate with business leads and subject matter experts in prioritizing work, managing to project approved scope and stakeholder expectations.
- Integrate and interpret information from various sources; Identify key business requirements and create stories based on the road map.
- Translate the business scope into features to be consumed and executed on by the delivery teams for projects and enhancements.
- Support feature definition and / or requirements analysis across business areas and multiple system domains
- Work with SME's, Product Owners and other stakeholders to create the required user stories (acceptance criteria’s & requirements)
- Work with PO and Architect on backlog grooming
- Identify cross application impacts as well as impacts to Broker, Vendor and / or Internal Customer.
- Support the CSIO mapping work for external vendor comp rater and BMS systems.
- Collaborate and work with the sprint teams to identify real business test scenarios for the comp rater and BMS systems ensuring adequate test coverage for every feature.
- Work closely with system architects and technical application leads to ensure solution and design remain in line with future capabilities, and industry technologies.
- Effectively facilitate working sessions with business and functional areas to drive consensus and create a shared understanding of business intent and obtain sign-off.
- Ensure the handoff to delivery execution team is smooth (walkthrough with impacted teams / applications / circles).
- Perform DEMO session to the PO’s & SME’s periodically after every Sprint to showcase the changes and impacts of the changes.
- Support QA activities as and when required.
- Preferred skillset in the following areas P&C Insurance domain experienceBehavior Driven DevelopmentScrum Agile Methodology Guidewire Policy Center Comp Rater and BMS vendors Integration Knowledge PL / SQL User Story elaboration User Acceptance Testing, Smoke TestingQA skills (nice to have)
What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?
- Typically has a Bachelor degree in Business, MIS or other related field
- 7+ years experience developing and supporting business technology systems.
- 3+ years experience in a leadership role on software delivery projects.
What is a Must Have?
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 5+ years experience developing and supporting business technology systems.
- 5+ years experience in business systems analysis or equivalent role.
