Job description

Position Description We are inviting applications for the position of Vice-Principal at Alwin Holland Elementary School effective August 1, 2025. We will be accepting applications until 4 : 30 pm on Monday, April 7, 2025 Alwin Holland has a student population of over 200 students and approximately 30% of those are Indigenous. Our school is an inner city school and our school population is characterized by considerable diversity. See for more information. We are looking for an individual with the Personal and Professional Characteristics : High level of self-regulation Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Committed to Truth & Reconciliation and Indigenous student success Determined to improve student achievement and well-being (SEL) Positive and professional demeanor Thoughtful and reflective A lead-learner in their role Committed to personal and professional development Has a sense of humour and likes to have fun A team-builder committed to collaboration and inquiry Understands the importance of process and uses a robust framework with a learning evidence dashboard for decision-making Additionally, we are looking for an individual with the following attributes : Five years of successful elementary or secondary teaching experience. This position will involve a significant teaching assignment. Experience in supporting extracurricular activities - i.e. sports, fine arts, etc. Experience in working with parents as educational partners. Experience in building an inclusive classroom and school environment.
