Intermediate Accountant

We are offering an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Accountant in Whitby, Ontario. The role is with a growing company in the Engineering industry and will involve the management and reconciliation of Inter Company accounts, participation in forecast and budgeting processes, and handling financial reporting.

Responsibilities :

• Carry out month-end close activities ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Oversee the integration and consolidation entries for newly acquired subsidiaries.
• Ensure the accurate processing of journal entries and monthly reconciliations.
• Manage financial and performance reporting, providing comprehensive and clear data.
• Utilize Calumo and One Stream for various accounting tasks.
• Handle lease accounting IFRS 16 using Prolease.
• Oversee fleet accounting and monitor KPI performance.
• Participate in the creation of CapEx and business cases.
• Support in semi-annual forecast processes, including labour models and costing.
• Contribute to the annual budgeting process, focusing on labour models and costing.
• Work with multiple currencies including CAD, USD, and EURO.
• Ensure adherence to finance policy and contribute to its ongoing development.
• Participate in special projects as needed, providing accounting expertise.
• Strong systems and software skills
• BST, Concur, Calumo and One Stream reporting and analysis (preferred)
• Review and update work instructions and policies (when needed)
• Tasks accomplished in an efficient and timely manner
• Highly motivated and an independent worker
• Good organization skills
• Microsoft Excel (intermediate)
• Ability to identify opportunities for improvement and partner with business to address.
• Experience in processing multi-currency transactions
• College or University degree in Finance or Accounting (preferred).
• Strong oral and written communication skills, must possess a professional manner and customer service mindset
