Job description

Were thrilled to be supporting a BC based Family Office with their new Finance Leadership hire : The Director of Finance will serve as the strategic financial leader for the family office working directly with the Chairman and President to oversee all aspects of the familys financial operations wealth preservation and growth initiatives.

Primary Responsibilities :

Investment Management & Strategy :

Lead the development and execution of comprehensive investment strategies across multiple asset classes including public equities fixed income private equity real estate and alternative investments

Evaluate and select external investment managers and maintain ongoing oversight of their performance

Conduct thorough due diligence on investment opportunities and prepare detailed investment analyses and recommendations

Financial Planning & Analysis :

Develop and maintain sophisticated financial models and analytics to support strategic decisionmaking

Oversee cash flow management liquidity planning and capital allocation across the familys enterprises and investments

Create and present regular financial reports and performance metrics to family leadership

Tax Strategy & Planning :

Design and implement taxefficient structures for investments business operations and wealth transfer

Coordinate with external tax advisors to optimize annual tax planning and ensure compliance

Develop strategies for minimizing estate tax exposure while meeting wealth transfer objectives

Debt & Capital Structure :

Structure and negotiate debt facilities and financing arrangements

Manage banking relationships and oversee credit facilities

Develop innovative lending structures to support family investments and ventures

Risk Management :

Implement comprehensive risk management strategies across the familys portfolio

Monitor and manage exposure to market credit and operational risks

Ensure adequate insurance coverage and protection of family assets

Leadership & Administration :

Manage the family offices finance team and coordinate with external advisors

Develop and maintain policies procedures and controls for financial operations

Serve as a key strategic advisor to family leadership on all financial matters

Qualifications :

Education & Experience :

CFA and / or CPA designation highly valued

10 years of progressive finance experience with at least 8 years in family office private banking or Holdco structures.

Deep understanding of tax strategies estate planning and trust structures

Technical Skills :

Expert knowledge of investment management portfolio theory and risk management

Strong understanding of private equity real estate and alternative investments

Advanced financial modeling and analysis capabilities

Proficiency in investment management software and financial reporting systems

Personal Qualities :

Highest level of integrity and discretion in handling sensitive family matters

Spy willing to move from 10000 ft down to 10ft in a day as needs arise.

Willing to try new approaches and technologies and look for ways to increase efficiency.

Outstanding analytical and problemsolving abilities

Excellent communication skills and ability to present complex financial information clearly

Strategic mindset with attention to detail.

This position reports directly to the Chairman and President offering competitive compensation including base salary performance bonus and comprehensive benefits package commensurate with experience and qualifications.
