What you will bedoing :
- Prepare andservice all food items for a la carte and or buffet menus accordingto hotel recipes and standards
- In conjunctionwith the Chef de Partie or Journeyperson; proactively prioritizetasks to ensure a consistently high level of service and quality offood for our guests
- Consistently ensures foodquality consistency and quantity are meeting establishedexpectations
- Consistently demonstrates positivebehavior and performance
- Ensures allestablished food safety protocols are followed maintains thekitchen in a neat clean and organizedmanner
- Ensures food cost is managed; bycontrolling food waste through FIFO rotation proper orderingstorage and preparation of all foods
- Ensuresproductivity and labour cost are managed; by maintaining a focusedand productive approach to daily tasks
- Possessa complete understanding of the menu recipes and presentationsaware of potential food allergens in eachdish
- Contribute ideas to menu developmentassist with recipe creation anddocumentation
- Liaise with other departmentssuch as Banquets Restaurants and Stewarding to ensure excellentcommunication in order to achieve smooth operationaloutcomes

Qualifications :
Yourexperience and skillsinclude :
- A minimum of1year recent (in the last year) experience in a hotel or restaurantkitchen at a comparable level of luxury service as a prep cookapprentice 3rd cook or similar role
- Possess aCooks Training certificate from a High School College orUniversity
- Current Food Safe level 1 orequivalent recognized food safety certificate (colleagues areresponsible for maintaining their food safecertification)
- Successful demonstration of ahigh level of technical and artistic culinary skills assessedduring a practical cooking test
- Successfuldemonstration of high level culinary and food safety knowledgeassessed through a written test
- Willing andable to taste all food products i.e. meats seafood produce drygoods dairy
- Completely fluent English languageskills; both written and verbal
- A provenability to communicate effectively work within a team and delegateto others
- Excellent organizational skills andshows initiative with ability to work well with littlesupervision
- Exercises sound decision makingwith the ability to prioritize tasksappropriately
- Demonstrated a high level ofresponsibility and accountability
- Demonstratedcommitment to provide excellent service and exceed guestsexpectations
- Must be able to work flexibleshifts evenings weekends holidays with either early start or latefinishtimes
