Job description

The Procurement Lead will support and oversee the procurement and insurance management functions necessary to meet the clients' operational needs and ensure business continuity. This role involves developing and fostering supplier and broker relationships, implementing procurement strategies, ensuring compliance with public sector procurement guidelines, and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, the Procurement Lead will manage inventory levels, negotiate insurance terms, and support organizational projects and initiatives. Key Responsibilities : Procurement ManagementLead and manage the procurement processes to ensure efficient and effective operations and business continuity.Develop, implement, and maintain a sourcing management framework plan that addresses organizational needs.Evaluate and eliminate inefficient procurement practices, while identifying opportunities for economies of scale.Foster and manage supplier relationships to achieve cost efficiencies, enable partnerships, and secure volume-based benefits; ensure proper procurement records management.Adhere to approved RFP / RFQ best practices, ensuring compliance across the organization.Inform staff of updates to procurement policies, changes to processes, or new vendor relationships.Conduct purchasing activities aligned with the Broader Public Sector procurement directives and organizational standards.Provide advice and guidance to departments or staff in developing new vendor relationships that meet operational needs.Maintain accurate procurement records and monitor all related activities.Expedite resolutions with vendors on critical issues such as overpricing, poor quality, backorders, or delivery delays.Facilitate regular inventory counts and deliver periodic reports to support informed decision-making.Monitor purchase order (PO) deliveries and manage necessary adjustments to maintain operational continuity.Implement and enforce inventory control systems to minimize waste and overstocking.Train employees consistently on procurement and insurance policies and updates.Provide support for organizational special projects and strategic initiatives as assigned. Insurance ManagementOversee the organization's insurance needs to ensure risk mitigation and business continuity.Align insurance policies with operational needs, evaluating risk exposure and ensuring compliance.Manage insurance policy renewals, negotiate favorable terms with brokers, and identify potential savings opportunities.Maintain detailed insurance records for audit and compliance purposes.Support delivery on special insurance-related initiatives, as assigned. Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related discipline.A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare or non-profit setting.Strong understanding of healthcare procurement regulations and compliance requirements.Demonstrated experience and knowledge of the Broader Public Sector Accountability Act (BPSAA) procurement processes.Proven expertise in tendering processes such as RFQ, RFP, and RFI.Skilled at building and managing supplier and broker relationships to achieve organizational objectives.Experience in negotiating insurance policies and evaluating requirements to mitigate risks.Ability to develop, implement, and oversee procurement strategies and procedures.Proven budget management and risk mitigation skills.Excellent organizational and time management skills; the ability to multitask in a fast-paced setting.Strong negotiation, communication, and contract management skills.Proficiency with procurement management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.Familiarity with inventory and supply chain management practices.Ability to stay current with industry trends and implement best practices to drive continuous improvement.Valid driver's license and access to a personal vehicle to support travel between sites, if required.Full COVID-19 vaccination or eligibility for accommodation under human rights protections.
