Opportunity : Electrical Estimator / Project Manager BAS / Mechanical Wiring
Our client is an established Commercial and Industrial focused IBEW Electrical Contractor based in the Mississauga area.
This team is currently looking to add an experienced, Junior to Mid-Level Electrical Estimator / Project Manager who has experience with mechanical wiring and BAS systems overall.
Their main area of focus is within the Industrial Power and Controls, Building Automation Systems, and Electrical specialties ranging from $5K to $5M.
Ideal Requirements :
- 70% Estimating and 30% Project Coordination / Management
- Previous experience in Electrical Estimating and Project Coordination as it relates to BAS systems and related mechanical wiring.
- Previous experience with Building Automation, Distribution, Branch Circuits, Fire Alarm, Industrial Controls, Generators, Grounding, etc. required.
- Exposure in an electrical apprenticeship or college / university degree in electrical engineering / technology, construction or some related field would be ideal.
- Experience or familiarity with Accubid estimating software (Willing to train)
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Word is preferred (Willing to train)
- Experience or familiarity with Procore an asset (Willing to train)
- Highly familiar Ontario Electrical Code
Estimating Responsibilities :
- Working independently or with a team member to review and interpret electrical, mechanical and controls drawings to create bills of materials and labor estimates.
- Acquiring pricing from suppliers and subcontractors on electrical materials according to project specifications.
- Interfacing with clients, consultants, and suppliers in the pretender, post tender, and project phases.
- Estimating site walk-throughs
- Determine the most cost-effective way to build the job.
- Supporting the team during project execution.
- Building relationships with customers and suppliers.
- Prospecting for new opportunities.
- Attending pre-job meetings.
- Making recommendations for continuous improvement.
Project Management Responsibilities :
- Reviewing plans, specifications, project contracts & documents.
- Manage small to mid-sized commercial and institutional projects from start up to completion as a team
- Create, maintain, and adhere to construction schedules.
- Coordinate electrical activity on sites
- Resolve site issues and develop solutions to on-site problems
- Attend site visits and meetings as needed
