Under the supervision of the Chef, the Cook will be responsible for the overall production, preparation & presentation of food items that will be served.

YOUR ROLE
- Cook and prepare the necessary food items as directed and in accordance with Health and Safety standards in a timely and efficient fashion
- Strong knowledge of food terminology, cooking / preparation methods and general food handling
- Adhere to standardized recipes and specifications in order to maintain consistency and ensure all standards are met
- Maintain a clean and sanitized work station, and follow the proper operating procedures
- Have full knowledge of all menu items, daily features and promotions
- Be able to operate all kitchen equipment and conduct themselves in a safe manner at all times
- Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines
- Report any and all deficiencies in kitchen equipment functionality and quality of food products
- Maintain food quality, and ensure limited food wastage during prepartion
- Comply with all safety regulations of assigned tasks, and ensure a clean and safe working environment
- Adhere to all environmental policies and programs as required
- Various other tasks as assigned by the Chef
YOUR PROFILE
Experience in full-service restaurant or hotel
Proven ability to plan, organize and multi-task
An acute sense of time management and attention to detail
Able to work proficiently with limited supervision, decision making on the fly and able to show initiative
Able to perform well under pressure
Able to lift / carry / push supplies or equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
Able to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
Proficient in both written and verbal communication
Experience in multiple departments of a hotel kitchen is an asset
Must possess a Certified Food Handlers certificate and degree / diploma for culinary skills
