Your role :

We're looking for a highly organized, dedicated, and diligent Payroll Coordinator to join our Finance & Accounting team to support our payroll initiatives and the global growth of our fast-paced SaaS company based in Vancouver.

Reporting to the Payroll Supervisor, the Payroll Coordinator will play a key role in administering day-to-day operational and financial activities as they relate to payroll processing and maintenance.

You will work collaboratively within the payroll function of our Finance & Accounting team as well as with Human Resources.

This position is well suited for someone with a solid understanding of statutory payroll regulations as well as education or work experience related to business administration with exposure to accounting.

Your responsibilities :

  • Prepare payroll inputs and ensure that all relevant information is obtained from the Human Resources team in a timely manner, including but not limited to new hires, departures, sales commissions, employee expenses, etc.
  • Complete the financial reconciliation and analysis for Canadian and US employee benefit programs for employee withholding, tax and financial reporting purposes
  • Assist with the issuance of Canadian T4s, US W2s, UK P60s and P11ds, and other required statutory filings
  • Prepare journal entries related to payroll within the financial system (NetSuite)
  • Prepare Records of Employment (ROE) for employee departures and terminations
  • Prepare incentive payout calculations for input into the payroll system
  • Assist with ensuring timely compliance and submission of government reporting and remittance requirements, such as BC Employer Health Tax (EHT), Workers Compensation Board (WCB), and various state authorities, etc.
  • Act as a resource and point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and managers, providing responses on a timely basis
  • Collaborate within the payroll team to understand current payroll legislation and requirements and keep informed of pending or forthcoming changes
  • Assist in the creation, implementation, and refinement of operating procedures for all payroll processes, within Finance & Accounting and cross-functionally with Human Resources
  • Assist in providing variance analysis for payroll and other finance matters, as required
  • Assist in other ad hoc requests and projects, as required

About you :

  • Minimum 2 years of applicable payroll experience with comprehensive knowledge of payroll regulations
  • Experience in a growing, high-tech environment is an asset
  • Global payroll experience (i.e. Canada, United States, United Kingdom) is not required but highly valuable
  • A diploma or degree in business administration, accounting or related field is required
  • Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) designation is an asset
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.
  • Impeccable accuracy with numbers and high attention to detail
  • Ability to exercise tact and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Exceptional adaptability, organizational, and self-management skills
  • Ability to effectively prioritize and manage a dynamic list of work on a day-to-day basis
  • Strong sense of deadlines and ownership of work
  • Excellent phone etiquette and ability to write clear, concise, and formal business communications
  • Ability to work independently as well as within a team with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment
  • Familiarity with payroll systems (including Payworks and iSolved) is an asset
  • Familiarity with the Salesforce CRM system, NetSuite ERP and other cloud-based accounting applications is an asset

Compensation :

Global Relay advertises the pay range for this role in compliance with British Columbia's pay transparency laws. Individual pay rates are determined by evaluating factors such as expertise, skills, education, and professional background.

The range below reflects the expected annual base salary, which is only one element of our comprehensive total rewards package designed to reflect our company pay philosophy, culture and values.

British Columbia - Base Salary Range :

$55,000 $65,000 CAD
