Job Purpose :
This position reports to the Vice-President of Sales, and requires extensive experience selling into Tier 1 Banks and Insurers, specifically within the Canadian fintech landscape. The Senior Account Manager will be responsible for driving all aspects of the sales process within the assigned vertical customer segment, with a focus on financial technology solutions, digital transformation initiatives, and regulatory-driven IT modernization.
The Senior Account Manager is the primary contact for all face-to-face proactive sales efforts for all network services, IT professional services, IT managed services, and hardware related IT products. This role requires a deep understanding of the fintech ecosystem, regulatory compliance challenges, and the competitive landscape within the financial services sector in Canada.
This position interacts with and provides resources to all levels of sales and sales management. This position is responsible for identifying, qualifying, and closing key opportunities. Customer satisfaction, as well as financial measures (revenue and / or gross profit), will directly relate to the performance of the position. The successful Senior Account Manager will develop and utilize sales plans and strategies to economically reach sales goals.
Essential Functions :
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies to drive revenue and gross profit growth within the assigned fintech and Tier 1 banking segment in Canada.
- Lead overall sales effort / strategy and coordination of appropriate overlay sales / technical resources (ie. Practice Leads, Technical Sales Engineers, etc.).
- Leverage deep knowledge of fintech innovations, open banking, AI-driven financial services, and cloud-based digital transformations to position solutions effectively.
- Focus on the identification of new solution opportunities, protect existing revenue base, manage internal / external communication, escalate appropriate roadblocks / issues to management, and maintain overall customer satisfaction.
- Identify and cultivate relationships with key decision-makers in Tier 1 banks and insurers, including CIOs, CTOs, CISOs, and senior procurement executives.
- Close both new accounts and existing accounts.
- Maintain appropriate sales funnel and provide accurate forecasts to sales management with regard to network and IT related services / solutions.
- Identify opportunities while managing longer, complex sales cycles.
- Attend and participate in account team reviews and strategy sessions geared at protecting existing business and driving new revenue opportunities.
- Participate in industry events, fintech roundtables, and Canadian banking technology forums to enhance brand presence and thought leadership in the sector.
Experience :
Ten (10) years or more experience preferredPrior training / experience large / strategic account managementProven track record of success selling IT services and solutions into Tier 1 banks and insurers, with direct experience in the Canadian fintech ecosystem.Strong understanding of financial services industry regulations, compliance requirements, and the impact of digital transformation on banking and insurance institutions.Field sales experience selling Cloud, Data, Consulting, AI, Managed Services, and Application DevelopmentPrior customer relationships with CIOs, program managers, and essential decision makersEducation :
