Job description

Moisie River Fishing Camp Inc. is a private property established over 100 years ago. This exceptional salmon fishing site generates significant economic benefits in terms of jobs and purchases of goods and services in the Côte-Nord region. The Moisie River Fishing Camp provides work for about forty people on a seasonal basis and is committed to maintaining harmonious relations with the local Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities. Under the supervision of the President, the incumbent's main mandate will be to : Manage the team (guides, cooks, housekeeping, building and mechanical staff); Oversee the recruitment process prior to the opening of the Camp; Manage the opening and closing of the Camp; Prepare and monitor the annual budget; Collaborate with the accountant and external auditor for year-end preparation; Maintain a high standardof service for members and their guests; Ensure good relations between Camp members, Indigenous and non-Indigenous communities, various salmon conservation associations and government agencies; Prepare the fishing schedule based on stay schedules and activities, and provide information on health and safety measures, etc.Coordinate the fishing sector grid, which operates on a lottery / draw system; Manage and coordinate camp activities; Ensure smooth operationsand resolve any problems that may arise.Job requirements and qualifications : Diploma of College Studies or solid business management experience, preferably in the outfitting or private fishing camp sector; Experience in personnel management; Bilingualism (English / French) is essential; Good knowledge of boating and general maintenance required; Knowledge of fly fishingand Atlantic salmon conservation is an advantage; Knowledge of Innu language is an asset.What the Camp has to offer you : Competitive compensation based on experience; On-site housing providedfrom May to September; A stimulating work environment with passionate colleagues; Possibility of working year-round (May to September at the Camp and remote work from September to April); Applications from couples considered.
