Job Description
We are recruiting for one of our top clients in Windsor, Ontario, seeking a Controller to join their Finance and Administration Department. Reporting to the Chief Financial and Administration Officer, this role plays a critical part in overseeing the accounting operations. The Controller will manage robust accounting records, effective controls, and budgets to ensure precise financial reporting that meets industry standards and regulations. Responsibilities include internal controls, auditing, payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable, with a focus on optimizing financial operations and maintaining strong internal policies.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Manage the accounting operations of our client, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial reporting.
- Oversee the maintenance of accounting records and implementation of comprehensive controls and budgets to mitigate risks.
- Lead internal audits, payroll processing, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
- Collaborate closely with other departments to ensure adherence to financial policies and procedures.
- Optimize financial processes and systems to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness.
- Provide strategic financial guidance to support decision-making and long-term planning.
- Maintain compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
Qualifications and Skills
Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial management, with at least 5 years in a supervisory or managerial role.Demonstrated expertise in financial reporting, corporate finance, and internal controls.Previous experience in public accounting is considered an asset.Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels.Proactive and results-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with a collaborative and team-oriented approach.Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling sensitive financial information.Willingness to travel within Ontario and Michigan as required.Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional accounting designation (CMA, CGA, CPA, or CA).Benefits
