The team draws from a breadth and depth of experience, with insights into the complexity of the energy industry from upstream, midstream, energy services and technology, energy transition and renewables sectors. The successful candidate will be a leader, senior member and an integral part of the reserve based lending and technical evaluations process and with the overall Corporate Banking team.You will join a dynamic entrepreneurial team and have the opportunity to work with clients and senior management. You will lead the technical evaluations and assist the Corporate Banking team execute on reserve based lending mandates and will closely work with professionals across the firm to deliver high quality advice to our clients.This position is based out of our 8th Avenue Place location in Calgary, AB.AccountabilitiesPrimary duties consist of, but are not limited to : Dynamic and multi-faceted role, leading the technical evaluations for upstream E&P lending purposes (annual reviews, prospective clients, M&A, etc.)Conduct and deliver risked asset and corporate evaluations for E&P companies seeking reserve-based lending from ATB and its syndicated partnersBuild and maintain strong internal and external relationships through best-in-class technical expertise and effective communication skillsProvide technical knowledge of oil and gas production and development including the nature, characteristics and status of existing plays within the WCSB (Western Canada Sedimentary Basin) and other oil and gas producing areas, keeping up-to-date on emerging plays, existing technology, new technology, provincial energy and reserve reporting regulationsKey committee member and thought leader in the development of ATB’s price forecast for lending purposesEstablish workflow efficiencies and strong governance within technical services and with internal partners to ensure the team delivers trusted, high quality and defendable workSkills, experience & requirementsMust have a university degree with a focus on Engineering, Geology, Geophysics or similar background.12+ years of oil and gas technical engineering experience.Currently a licensed engineer or technical professional within Canada.Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Strong work ethic with an appreciation for schedule uncertainty.Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to excellence.Team oriented with the ability to work in an open and unstructured environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Prior experience in upstream energy or as an independent reserves evaluator is most desired.Prior experience in corporate or investment banking or capital markets experience is considered an asset.Don’t meet all the requirements on the list?A resume only goes so far in expressing who you are and the unique perspectives you bring.
