MEDITECH SUPPORT ANALYST, Informatics & Technology Services

JOB SUMMARY & REQUIREMENTS

For over 20 years, Collingwood General & Marine Hospital (CGMH), Georgian Bay General Hospital (GBGH), Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) and Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre (RVH) have been in partnership sharing a single Health Information System (HIS) – Meditech. This group has come to be known as the “Regional ITS Partnership”. With the implementation of Meditech Expanse, RVH has been identified by the partnership as the Lead agency providing regional Meditech support and some other key services. The primary purpose of this partnership of the four hospitals is to improve patient safety and quality of care by promoting and maintaining a one patient, one record vision in our single shared HIS. The Regional ITS Partnership has identified information and technology as key pillar to support a safe and efficient patient experience while driving clinical excellence. We are excited to further expand our team to continue the ongoing support.

You may be assigned to an alternate main site temporarily at the discretion of RVH Regional Informatics & Technology Services. You may be required to provide on- call, after hours support, and you may be requested to flex your schedule based on organization requirements, project implementations, and incident management. This may require extended shifts, evenings, nights and / or weekends in order to provide excellent systems support to our hospitals which are open 24x7x365.

As the Meditech Support Analyst, you will report to the Manager of Clinical Informatics or the Manager of Integration, Platform & Data Management. You are an integral part of the RVH ITS team and as Lead agency for regional services support role. This challenging position requires an individual to be self-directed, analytical and organized. In this role you will be working closely with the regional Clinical Applications Analysts, and ITS division supporting Meditech and associated systems, equipment and integration, while providing front line service and support to front line staff, physicians and the IT local service desks for the four-hospital partnership. This position will work with key stakeholders, to assist in managing and triaging Meditech service requests, determining clinical priority and business needs, and assist in facilitation of effective solutions that are consistent with regional / organizational goals and objectives.

This role requires strong functional knowledge and understanding of the Meditech HIS modules, operational workflows, including associated equipment, integrations and operational functions. The clerical applications analyst functions as Tier 2 service and support and may also support various workflow and modules associated with user and providers, other applications and maintenance of regional standards. You will require broad functional understanding of Meditech, supporting multiple internal and external stakeholders, initiatives and projects, and provides support for operational changes, moves and provides options and support to development opportunities for system and process optimizations to meet project goals and objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS

As a qualified candidate you will have the following job requirements :

  • Undergraduate degree or diploma
  • Minimum three-years of relevant healthcare experience
  • Experience with Meditech applications with proven knowledge to explain and demonstrate ability for triage support for the relevant Expanse modules
  • Familiarity with Meditech to readily understand the steps to test changes and system upgrades
  • Advanced competency in MS Office Suite and to effectively operate computer, hardware, software and peripheral equipment
  • Demonstrated competency in Meditech Expanse is preferred and Internet research capabilities
  • Experience with ITIL documentation an asset
  • Experience applying LEAN principles

  • You must have access to reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license. You may be assigned to an alternate main site temporarily at the discretion of the Regional IT Partnership and therefore willingness and flexibility to support the four hospitals organizational needs.

Therefore, depending on the program for which you are applying, it may be an expectation that you are available to work week days and weekends, as well as all shifts - days, evenings, and nights.
