Client : Big Five Bank – Data OfficeTerms : 6 month rolling contract.Perks : Be part of an internationally recognized organization and a highly cohesive, friendly, high performance team!Location : Halifax, NS - HybridJob Summary : We are looking for a Risk Controls Analyst to overlay risk control with lineage flow and risk mapping documents / diagrams, focusing on how data moves and business-specific controls. The analyst will identify risks in the lineage and make recommendations for enhancements or gap mitigation with the business, and identify and communicate data quality concerns with the business. They will work with various control groups (e.g., Archer, SOX team).Key Responsibilities : Work with various control groups (e.g., Archer, SOX team).Overlay risk control with lineage flow and risk mapping documents / diagrams.Focus on how data moves and business-specific controls.Identify risks in the lineage and make recommendations for enhancements or gap mitigation with the business.Identify and communicate data quality concerns with the business.Ensure compliance with enterprise data and reporting policies.Work with finance and risk partners to meet regulatory requirements.Organize data around topics aligned with BCBS and other regulatory standards.Support risk and control assessments, accuracy controls, and retention efforts.Ideally will have basic understanding of reading code (SQL, Java, COBOL, etc.) and knowledge of ETL tooling, systems business logic, and APIs.Understanding of data flow, ITGC controls, transformations, filtrations.Financial background beneficial, but not a hard requirement.Requirements : Experience in risk controls, business-specific controls ITGC preferred.Ability to support risk and control assessments, accuracy controls, and retention efforts.Ability to read / understand programming languages (SQL, Java, COBOL, etc. any are acceptable).Understanding or ability to understand data movements and lineage.Strong communication skills, organizational skills, ability to present to business stakeholders, analytical ability, attention to detail.Enthusiastic and engaged team member who is passionate about their workNice to Have : Experience in SOX compliance.Experience in finance and risk partners.ETL tooling knowledge.This a great opportunity to join a Big Five Bank and continue your career in the financial domain.
