Job description

Position : NX CAD Designer (Contract)

Location : Onsite – Montreal, QC

About the Role :

A leading aerospace company is seeking an experienced NX CAD Designer specializing in Standard Parts and Reuse Libraries for a 6-month contract. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring that standard aerospace components are accurately modeled and easily accessible within the company’s CAD libraries. This position requires onsite work in Montreal and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of next-generation aircraft systems.

Responsibilities :

  • Model and release standard aerospace components , including NAS fasteners, within the CAD system.
  • Ensure adherence to best practices for part modeling and standardization , suggesting improvements where needed.
  • Collaborate closely with Materials & Process teams, Design teams, Configuration Management, and Supply Chain to support hardware standardization.
  • Maintain and update the reuse library to ensure accuracy and efficiency in the design process.

Required Qualifications :

  • Degree or Certification in a Design / Drafting program.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a mechanical CAD Designer using Siemens NX (or 3 years with a Master’s degree).
  • Proficiency in Siemens TeamCenter PLM .
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with precision.
  • Experience with Windows-based applications (spreadsheets, word processing, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills .

    • Preferred Skills :

  • Experience with parametric modeling, Part Families, and BIM Reuse libraries in NX .
  • Knowledge of Model-Based Design (MBD) and Product Manufacturing Information (PMI) .
  • Understanding of ASME Y14.5M-2018 dimensioning and tolerancing standards.
  • Experience with CAD data translation (IGES, DXF, STP).
  • Familiarity with aerospace COTS hardware specifications (NAS, AN, MS).
