We are seeking an experienced Software Performance Engineer to join our dynamic team in Halifax, NS. The ideal candidate will possess a wealth of experience in performance testing strategies and optimization techniques for large-scale distributed systems.

Your future duties and responsibilities :

• Collaborate with engineering teams to define and develop comprehensive performance test strategies for large-scale distributed systems.
• Utilize tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, JMeter, and others to conduct stress and rush hour testing, analyze performance metrics, and identify bottlenecks.
• Apply expertise in distributed systems, Internet principles, and statistical data analysis to optimize application performance and reduce latency.
• Provide guidance on fundamental design principles for building scalable applications on cloud infrastructure, particularly AWS.
• Demonstrate deep knowledge of middleware Java stack, Oracle, messaging technologies, and web containers to enhance system performance.
• Work closely with engineers to troubleshoot performance throughput issues and implement optimizations.
• Thrive in a fast-paced Agile software delivery environment, actively contributing to continuous integration and continuous delivery processes.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role :

Minimum of 8 years of experience in software performance engineering roles.

Proven experience working with large-scale engineering teams to define and implement performance test strategies.

Familiarity with enterprise cloud-enabled distributed systems.

Expertise in performance testing tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, Splunk, JMeter, etc.

Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure principles, particularly AWS.

Proficiency in middleware Java stack, Oracle, messaging technologies, and web containers.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced Agile software delivery environment.

Excellent analytical skills and troubleshooting experience in performance throughput issues.
