Job description

Procurement Coordinator

Job Type : Full-time, Permanent Salary : $55K–$60K per year

Location : St. Catharines, ON

Our client is looking for a Procurement Coordinator to support its operations in the North American and Australian Mining and Aggregate markets. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a fast-paced environment and build strong relationships with suppliers.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Request quotations from suppliers to achieve the best price, delivery, and quality
  • Maintain safety stock levels of all material via the MRP system and manual checks
  • Issue purchase orders for machine parts, screen media, packing equipment, and MRO
  • Determine the suitable supplier for purchase orders
  • Communicate regularly with production, sales, and maintenance teams regarding material needs and delivery schedules
  • Expedite orders with suppliers daily
  • Purchase all required materials in a timely and efficient manner
  • Suggest LEAN ideas to improve inventory turns and reduce costs
  • Maintain purchasing views, safety stock levels, and lead times in SAP material master files

Qualifications and Skills :

  • Strong time management, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of MS Word, Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros), and ERP / MRP / DRP software
  • Strong negotiation and vendor relationship skills
  • Understanding of lean purchasing strategies and inventory control principles
  • Educational Requirements :

  • College Diploma in Business or Supply Chain Management OR 3–5 years of equivalent work experience
