About us :
The Biomanufacturing Hub Network (BioHubNet) is an immersive talent development program aimed at producing industry-ready, highly qualified personnel (HQP) in the biomanufacturing sector through comprehensive training initiatives with deep industry engagement. BioHubNet has been recently awarded $18.9 million in federal funding. BioHubNet is committed to delivering state-of-the-art training crucial for Canada’s future in biomanufacturing and pandemic preparedness. It offers tailored training programs drawing on the collective expertise of academia, industry, hospitals, and not-for-profit organizations. The core of the BioHubNet model is industry-led and industry-relevant credentialed training to meet the skills needed in the biomanufacturing sector combined with experiential learning through internships and residencies. BioHubNet will provide training to a diverse range of HQP, including clinical associates, post-doctoral fellows, graduate students, technicians, focusing on three key thematic areas : ENGAGE – microcredential courses (open to those in industry as well); EXPERIENCE – experiential learning; EQUIP – entrepreneurial training, all of which will be pursued with attention to EQUITABLE opportunities.
Through BioHubNet’s training, HQP will be better equipped for careers in biomanufacturing and the life sciences ecosystem more generally.
Your opportunity :
Reporting to the Director, BioHubNet, and working closely with the Director, Strategy & Partnership at PRiME, the Business Officer, BioHubNet will be responsible for supporting the financial management for BioHubNet and PRiME, which includes a portfolio of training program funding, operating accounts, contracts and restricted accounts. The incumbent provides business administrative support, prepares the forecast and budget plans, detailed analysis of variances, prepares regular data monitoring analysis for senior management decision making. The Business Officer, BioHubNet ensures that business transactions are aligned with the general accepted accounting principles, the University’s financial and purchasing guidelines, as well as the Faculty’s funding rules.

Appointment Type : Grant - Term. This is a term position for three (3) years .
Schedule : Full-Time. Monday through Friday from 8 : 45 AM to 5 : 00 PM, with overtime on weekdays and occasional overtime on weekends.
Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone :
USW Pay Band 14 $90,056. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $115,169. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation / Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
