Key Account Manager

Job Overview : We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Key Account Manager to oversee and drive business development efforts across the Alberta and BC (Lower Mainland) regions. This position will focus on MAC and Mitten product lines, customer acquisition, identifying and expanding new market opportunities, driving product line sales, and coaching a high-performing sales team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales management, a passion for driving growth, and experience in the Challenger Sales methodology to help elevate the team's performance and deliver exceptional results.

Additionally, the Key Account Manager will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with key accounts, ensuring the delivery of exceptional service, and driving long-term customer loyalty.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Specification Development :

Work with architects, engineers, and specifiers to influence and secure product specifications for MAC and Mitten products on key construction projects. Ensure that these products are consistently included in project specifications across various building sectors.

  • Collaboration with Outside Sales Team :
  • Work closely with the outside sales team to understand contractor and builder needs, ensuring alignment between the sales strategies and client requirements. Coordinate efforts to support key accounts, drive product specifications, and provide the necessary resources to meet client demands.

  • Client Relationship Management :
  • Develop and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key accounts, contractors, architects, specifiers, and other stakeholders across Western Canada. Be the primary point of contact for all assigned accounts within the BC and Alberta regions.

  • Business Development :
  • Identify new business opportunities and pursue new clients to expand the reach of MAC and Mitten product lines. Collaborate with the sales and marketing teams to create targeted strategies that increase market share and generate new leads in the assigned regions.

  • Product Knowledge :
  • Gain and maintain a deep understanding of MAC and Mitten product lines, including technical features, benefits, and applications. Provide support and guidance to clients and stakeholders to enhance product understanding and promote product adoption.

  • Sales Targets & Reporting :
  • Meet or exceed regional sales targets by managing key accounts, securing product specifications, and developing new business. Regularly provide sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to senior management to track progress and performance.

  • Market Intelligence :
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities across Western Canada, particularly in BC and Alberta. Use this knowledge to refine strategies and maintain a competitive edge in the marketplace.

  • Customer Support :
  • Provide exceptional customer service, resolving client inquiries and addressing issues related to orders, delivery, and product applications. Ensure timely and accurate communication with clients and internal teams to foster long-term relationships.

  • Travel & Fieldwork :
  • Some travel within Western Canada (primarily BC and Alberta) is required for client meetings, site visits, and industry events. Occasional overnight travel will be necessary to meet with clients and ensure that specifications and projects are being successfully managed.

    Qualifications

  • Experience :  Proven track record of business development and closing sales is required. Industry experience is not necessary.
  • Skills :  Strong sales, negotiation, and presentation skills. Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and proficiency in Teams meetings.
  • Education :  Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field is preferred but not required.
  • Technical Proficiency :  Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Personal Attributes :  Self-motivated, solution-oriented, dynamic, and able to work independently. Demonstrates a high level of professionalism and integrity.
