About the Role

The Associate Director, Client Services & Strategy acts as a senior strategic lead across key client accounts, ensuring the development and execution of client marketing strategies while also overseeing the day-to-day management of client relationships and account activities.

This role bridges the gap between big-picture strategic oversight and hands-on execution , reporting into the Vice President, Integrated Marketing, to align client objectives with agency capabilities. The Associate Director also plays a key role in mentoring account teams , ensuring excellence in service delivery, and supporting agency growth through organic account expansion and financial stewardship .

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, team leader, and client relationship expert , capable of managing multiple accounts while maintaining a focus on quality, efficiency, and business impact.

What You’ll be Doing

Strategic Development & Execution

  • Oversee multiple client accounts , driving measurable results and ensuring high-quality execution .
  • Develop and refine client strategies , working alongside the Director, Client Strategy + Service to ensure proper alignment with business goals.
  • Ensure the execution and delivery of all assigned projects and initiatives, providing strategic oversight and problem-solving support.
  • Work closely with internal teams (creative, media, production, and strategy) to ensure seamless project execution.

Client Relationship Management

  • Act as the primary contact for mid-to-senior level client stakeholders , managing relationships with confidence and professionalism.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts by recommending additional services or projects that align with client needs.
  • Lead client meetings, strategy discussions, and performance reviews , ensuring a clear understanding of objectives and progress.
  • Proactively manage client expectations , addressing challenges before they become obstacles.
  • Team Leadership & Management

  • Provide mentorship, training, and performance feedback , fostering a high-performance team culture.
  • Monitor workload allocation , ensuring the efficient use of resources while balancing team capacity and deliverable timelines.
  • Ensure team alignment with agency standards , maintaining high levels of accountability and performance.
  • Financial Accountability

  • Oversee budgets, scopes, and resource allocation across all assigned accounts, ensuring financial health.
  • Support budget management efforts , ensuring that projects remain on track and within scope.
  • Collaborate with finance and operations to maintain profitability, forecast revenue, and manage resourcing .
  • Troubleshoot account challenges , providing proactive solutions to mitigate risk and optimize performance.
  • What You’ll Bring to the Role

  • 5 - 7 years of experience in a senior account management, client services, or strategy role, preferably within an agency setting.
  • A proven track record of leading client strategy , managing accounts, and driving business results.
  • Strong understanding of marketing strategy, campaign execution, and digital transformation .
  • Exceptional leadership skills , with experience mentoring and managing teams .
  • Financial acumen, with experience in budget management, forecasting, and resource allocation .
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to challenges and opportunities .
  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence client stakeholders and internal teams .
  • Nice to Have

  • Certifications in analytics, SEO, SEM, social media marketing, and / or project management (e.g., PMP, AMI).
  • Experience overseeing digital product development or website builds.
  • Exposure to business development, RFP responses, and new client acquisition .
