McCann Health is a part of McCann Worldgroup and the Interpublic Group (IPG).As the Account Director on the business, you will be the main client contact on the brands assigned, providing these clients with strategic integrated marketing solutions. With a primary specialty in Healthcare Communications, this role also requires you to manage an internal integrated communications team ensuring all client work is flawlessly executed.

About the Role :

  • Manage internal team, agency resources and workflow process
  • Primary contact with senior clients, providing clients with innovative short and long-term strategic marketing guidance
  • Fully understand all aspects of the clients’ business and stay on top of the changing competitive business environment
  • Complete understanding of the healthcare / pharmaceutical regulatory environment and how to navigate procedures and approvals
  • Take the lead role on building the clients business, and develop a positive and partnering relationship with all clients based on trust and respect
  • Generate new initiatives for the agency-client partnership and drive conversations about the future focus on what comes next in terms of work
  • Aspire to and inspire world-class creative with client and within the agency team, as evidenced by case studies and award-worthy submissions
  • Ensure that account team produces all client work with highest level of quality, on time and on budget
  • Take responsibility for the outputs of your team and troubleshoot effectively when needed, while engaging your manager where appropriate
  • Ensure that strategies are being met on multiple on-going campaigns
  • Overall fiscal responsibility for budgets, billings, profitability and forecasting
  • Provide input into staffing plans, budgets and promotions
  • Take an active role in building a positive agency culture
  • Take an active role in career development for all direct reports, providing mentorship and conducting on-going performance evaluations
  • Assist and lead new business initiatives, both organic and net new growth

About You :

  • Minimum of 7-10 years experience in a client service role in an agency with a focus on Healthcare Communications
  • Ability to keep composure in high-stress situations and resolve tensions on team and with client
  • Experience in multiple integrated campaigns with a digital-first mindset
  • For Rx roles, solid experience navigating PAAB is a prerequisite
  • For CH roles, solid experience navigating ASC is a prerequisite
  • Solid understanding of agency and creative process with ability to inspire world-class creative
  • Track record of building strong long-term client relationships
  • An understanding of how to set performance goals, and continually drive for results and highest quality standards
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • Demonstrated fiscal management skills incl. profitability of assigned accounts
  • Experienced people manager, demonstrating strong mentoring abilities
  • Superior organizational and time management skills with a strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrated strategic thinker with ability to lead a business
  • Solid understanding of business and current marketplace
  • Category experience a strong asset
  • Ability to design and deliver presentation with a creative flare

  • Digital, media, social and analytics knowledge a plus
