Job Brief

Our Corporate Information Technology Department is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to work with a variety of business departments across the organization, in partnership with IT Project Managers and other key stakeholders.

Permanent, Full-time; 75 hours bi-weekly)

Are you a senior IT Business Analyst with seasoned experience in taking the lead role on projects and assignments to improve processes and systems? Do you excel in a cross-functional team environment and have an innovative mindset? Our Corporate Information Technology Department is currently seeking an experienced Business Analyst to work with a variety of business departments across the organization, in partnership with IT Project Managers and other key stakeholders, to identify systems requirements that will effectively support current and future business needs. We are looking for a self-directed, results-oriented team member who can readily adapt to multiple priorities and deliver consistent, quality work.

The Opportunity :

Reporting to the IT Strategy and Planning Manager, you will work to capture, analyze, validate, and document business processes, and translate them into application and operational requirements. You will use your advanced interpersonal skills to build relationships and successfully engage with stakeholders to fully understand their needs and priorities. You will rely on your seasoned analysis and problem solving skills to identify gaps and propose technology solutions. This will complement your experience and skill in creating business cases and supporting departments to make effective decisions regarding recommendations. As a team player, you will assist IT Project Managers in planning and executing improvement strategies, and use best practice change management skills to help support departments through the implementation stages.

Your Professional Background and Skillset :

  • A strong customer-service focus and relationship-building skills that are collaborative, responsive and supportive
  • Success working within a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • A post-secondary degree or diploma in Computer Science, Business Administration or Information Systems Business analysis certification (e.g. CBAP) is preferredBusiness process management certification is preferredITIL certification is preferredChange management certification is preferredOther combinations of related education and experience may also be considered
  • 5+ years of related experience, preferably in a large organization with diverse business areas, with specific expertise in : Best practice process and technical requirements gathering and documentationGap analysis; modeling; and methodology developmentUsing a variety of stakeholder engagement tools including workshops, questionnaires, surveys, workflow storyboards, user cases, scenarios, etc.Creating business case documentation, scope documentation, process flows, integration maps and network infrastructure mapsDocumenting requirements specifications in both technical and user-friendly languageSupporting delivery teams as they develop, test, and deploy solutionsReviewing delivery team output to ensure requirements are correctly interpreted Defining and executing test cases
  • Superior troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • Superior listening, verbal and written communication skills

Wage : $43.96 per hour

subject to current collective agreement negotiations)

Hours of work : 75 hours bi-weekly
