Job descriptionMinimum 2 Years Experience Rolling Hot Mix Asphalt with Large and Small Rollers Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain equipment effectively. Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on communication and collaboration. A valid driver's license is preferred, along with any necessary certifications for heavy equipment operation.
Position Overview
At Aecon, people are at the heart of everything we do. We are currently hiring a Screed Operator for our 2025 Road Construction Paving Crew located in Calgary, Alberta.
Key Responsibilities
- Operates valves to regulate flow of material at a specified rate.
- Signals Paving Machine Operator to start and stop paving machine.
- Observes distribution of material over road surfaces to ensure uniform distribution.
- Turns handwheels to set angle and depth of screed.
- Using depth gauge, verifies depth specifications of compacted asphalt.
- Train new employees in the safe and efficient operation of the paver.
- Other duties as assigned.
