The Supply Chain Analyst is responsible for managing procurement, inventory, and logistics for finished goods and packaging materials within the supply chain. This position will focus heavily on forecasting and purchasing of finished goods, analyzing demand trends, and optimizing inventory levels to ensure an efficient supply chain. It involves collaborating across teams, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring the timely delivery of products and materials.
Responsibilities :
- Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to develop accurate demand forecasts for finished goods and packaging materials, with a strong emphasis on forecasting and purchasing finished goods.
- Analyze sales data, market trends, and customer orders to forecast future demand, ensuring accurate purchasing of finished goods to meet those needs.
- Source, select, and negotiate contracts with suppliers for finished goods and packaging materials, ensuring competitive pricing, quality, and delivery terms.
- Manage supplier relationships and performance, monitoring key metrics and addressing any issues or concerns proactively to ensure the timely availability of finished goods.
- Optimize inventory levels of finished goods and packaging materials to minimize stockouts, excess inventory, and carrying costs, with a particular focus on forecasting needs for finished goods.
- Implement inventory control measures, such as safety stock and reorder points, to ensure an adequate supply of finished goods while minimizing costs.
- Coordinate with logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of finished goods to customers and distribution centers.
- Manage transportation logistics for inbound shipments of packaging materials, optimizing freight costs and schedules.
- Develop packaging specifications and standards, ensuring compliance with regulations and customer requirements.
- Ability to travel approximately one week per month to visit suppliers and our facilities partners, acting as a liaison between them and GFII.
- Build and maintain relationships with suppliers, conducting site visits and performance reviews as needed.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and supply chain innovation to improve forecasting accuracy and finished goods procurement.
Education and Experience :
Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business, or a related field preferred; High school diploma or equivalent required.Proven experience in supply chain analysis, procurement, or inventory management, with a strong background in forecasting and purchasing finished goods, preferably in manufacturing or consumer goods.Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.Ability to travel approximately one week per month and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.Proficiency in supply chain management software and Microsoft Excel.Certification in supply chain management or procurement (e.g., CPSM, CSCP) is a plus.
