As a Service Technician the responsibilities are to complete repairs to mechanical components of equipment in an accurate and timely manner within the specifications NOV HydraRig Canada.
Working in the Service Department may require a flexible work schedule including overtime and on call depending on the needs of the customers :
- Trouble shoots and repair equipment as required for customers. Read diagrams and schematic drawings and service manuals to determine work procedures.
- Operate rigging equipment and dollies to place heavy machinery and parts
- Fit bearings, align gears and shafts, attach motors, and connect couplings and belts (often to within a fraction of a millimeter tolerance)
- Align and test equipment, and make any necessary adjustments
- Perform predictive and operational maintenance using procedures such as vibration analysis, and repair or replace defective parts when necessary
- Service and repair hydraulic, pneumatic and programmable logic controls
- Complete tasks within the specifications of NOV HydraRig Canada and the designated QA System
- Complete annual review Quality Assurance program
- Complete all documentation associated with service work, parts used, time keeping
- Maintain all safety standards as per NOV Canada ULC. Health and Safety policies and Provincial regulations
- Ensure that all safety and mechanical equipment being used is well maintained
- All other assigned or associated tasks and duties to help meet or exceed the customer expectations and company goals.
- Learning other product groups outside of NOV HydraRig Canada, within facility or in the field, dependent on work flow requirements.
- Willingness to travel for customer field service calls on short notice.
Education & Experience :
- Millwright, Heavy Equipment Technician, Instrumentation, Welder, or Electrician Designation within the Province of Alberta as an Apprentice, Journeyman or Red Seal.
- Previous experience in the manufacturing, oilfield, or mobile equipment service sector is an asset.
HSE Requirements :
- Shop environment, warehouse and working indoors / outdoors. Possibility to be exposed to dust, fumes, or gases and changes of temperature / humidity
- Possible physical requirements : squatting, bending, lifting, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, reaching, twisting, crawling, climbing, ladder work, and working near moving equipment
- First Aid, forklift, overhead crane training is a beneficial to this role
- Required to wear steel toe boots, safety glasses or side shields, hard hat, and ear protection. Task pending face shield and / or ventilation mask required.
