Description
Our company is a rapidly growing technology and service solutions company to the oil & gas industry and is currently searching for a Senior Electrical Engineer to join our Global Technology Center in Vaughan, Ontario.
The Senior Electrical Engineer will be responsible for all aspects of hardware and firmware development and implementation of electronics system in our company's technology offerings.
This includes technical requirements, schematics entry, PCB layout design, firmware and software development and system implementation.
This is a multi-faceted role which requires good communications with other teams within the organization as a key contributor to a growing engineering team.
Responsibilities :
- Analyze requirements, research, design and develop system architecture and specifications.
- Schematic capture and PCB layout for low power analog and digital designs.
- Firmware and software development and integration
- Work closely with other disciplines to achieve project requirements.
- Manage product life cycle issues including obsolescence, excessive lead times, alternative selection, etc.
- Drive and establish best practices and development processes to ensure successful new product developments as measured by timeliness, quality, product cost, and investment.
Job Requirements
Requirements :
- 10+ years of experience in analog, digital and mixed signal hardware design and implementation
- 5+ years of embedded micro-controller design (ARM Cortex-M) experience including communication interfaces such as SPI, UART, USB, etc.
- Detailed knowledge of electronics hardware and the ability to integrate designs with mechanical elements, embedded firmware, and sensors.
- Thorough experience in schematic entry and layout design using industry standard tools with excellent understanding of PCB layout design requirements.
- Experience with battery operated system designs and low power strategies.
- Experience with integration of embedded system and user interface.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to solve problems as part of a multi-site organization and cross functional team is expected.
- Effective written and verbal communications in English.
