Job description

We are seeking a talented and motivated Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney / Partner with a book of business to join our expanding team. This firm offers significant exposure to a wide range of construction-related disputes in addition to a full range of legal services, as expected in a top ranked firm. Candidates must possess excellent client-service ability, technical skill, professionalism, ability to collaborate with other lawyers and staff, motivation, and the value of your book of business.

Location :   Flexible location : Burnaby, Vancouver, or both, with hybrid and remote options available.

Responsibilities :

  • Manage a diverse caseload of construction litigation matters, including contract disputes, construction defects, mechanic's liens, and other construction-related issues.
  • Conduct legal research, draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, trials, and alternative dispute resolution proceedings.
  • Collaborate effectively with all levels of staff to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.
  • Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients on construction law matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Requirements :

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Strong preference for 5+ years of litigation in British Columbia
  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
