Job description

Kelly Engineering is currently seeking an experienced Strategic Sourcing Specialist at Dow chemical - Fort Saskatchewan Site!

Title : Strategic Sourcing Specialist

Contract length is 12 + months

Current location : Fort Saskatchewan, AB (Onsite)

The Sourcing Specialist is part of the Fort Saskatchewan Path 2 Zero (FSP2Z) Capital Sourcing Team which manages the sourcing needs for Dow businesses and Capital Project teams. The Sourcing Specialist will actively engage and support clients in the businesses and functions to ensure that sourcing requirements are known, and that supplier quality and service levels meet expectations. This role also negotiates assigned specific equipment purchases for execution as purchase orders.

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Develop knowledge of the supply market and suppliers.
  • Responsible for the negotiation, execution and implementation of POs and related work processes in accordance with the strategies within the FSP2Z Program, commercial area, and / or geography.
  • Engage with Stakeholders to clarify the scope of service, quality, volume, and requirements for POs.
  • Analyze data to identify improvements in vendor and document savings delivered to projects.
  • Utilize available electronic Sourcing tools (e.g. Zycus) to the fullest capability, to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the Purchasing process.

Skills & Knowledge :

  • Adeptly use I / T applications (SAP, Excel, etc.) to execute the Source to Pay work process – Diamond Systems and associated systems (Zycus, Master Data Governance etc.)
  • Work independently with a high degree of organization.
  • Ability to persuade internal and external clients through effective communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills across Source to Pay colleagues, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • Quickly learn and adapt to enhanced work processes.
  • Strong data analysis skills to effectively identify value opportunities.
  • Exhibition of strong work ethic and responsiveness to earn respect of business partners.
  • Required Qualifications :

    A minimum of a Bachelor's degree is required.

    At least 3 years of relevant experience.
