Picture getting paid to spend the whole summer with a child or children with special needs who require your help integrating into their group. You’ll have to adapt to them while finding ways to get them to safely participate in the group’s various activities (going to the pool, playing in the park, doing arts and crafts…)! Wouldn’t that be great?

Imagine being able to let out your inner child and never get bored, while adding an important skill to your resume.

We’re looking for summer camp Youth Worker for children from kindergarten to grade 6 with inclusion support needs. Each week will be a new adventure with a host of indoor, but mostly outdoor activities. You’ll gain experience in crisis intervention, programming adaptation and humanism. Your role will be vital to the camp and will have a positive impact on the lives of the children using the inclusion support service.QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED

Education, Certifications and LicensesCollege diploma or certificate in Youth / Family Studies, Social Services, Psychoeducation or a related field AND some years of experience in Youth programs or a related fieldORHigh School diploma AND several years of experience in a related fieldANDHIGH FIVE Principles of Healthy Child DevelopmentCurrent CPR and standard First Aid certificationExperienceIn facilitation, teaching and group training of programs for youthIn children’s group facilitationIn intervening with youth who may be experiencing personal difficultiesIn applying policies, procedures, and regulationsCompetenciesClient focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS

Bilingual

This is an on-site position with an assigned work location.
