AIX Administrator

Soroc is seeking Senior AIX Administrator for one of our clients in Toronto

Must Have Experience :

• 10+ years of related professional experience - Senior AIX administrator" in an SAP
• Manage and maintain the AIX operating system on servers that are hosting SAP applications, specifically focused on the AIX platform within the SAP environment
• Tasks could include installation, patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and ensuring the stability of the AIX systems running SAP software.
• Deep understanding of AIX operating system administration, including file systems, network configuration, security, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting.
• SAP Integration :
• Knowledge of how AIX interacts with SAP applications, including the SAP Basis layer, to ensure optimal performance and compatibility.
• System Management :
• Managing system updates, backups, disaster recovery plans, and user access controls on AIX servers dedicated to SAP applications.
• Typical responsibilities might include :
• Installing and configuring AIX operating systems on new SAP servers
• Managing AIX system patches and updates to maintain security and stability
• Monitoring AIX server performance and identifying potential bottlenecks
• Troubleshooting technical issues related to AIX on SAP systems
• Implementing AIX security measures to protect SAP data
• Managing storage and disk space on AIX servers
• Advanced technical background of windows ,unix / aix and vm based server operating systems
• Practical experience with OS operation, upgrades and security patching
• Demonstrates expertise in AZURE
• Advanced knowledge in Hyperscalers network topics, including VPN, VPC, NAT gateways, and Security groups.
• Proficient in handling infrastructure topics like DNS, LDAP, NTP etc.
• Good understanding of IT security, OS hardening.
• Experience in Scripting (e.g., Shell, Python, Go, etc), Infrastructure-as-Code tools like Ansible.
• Ability to create good documentation
