Job description

The Warehouse Supervisor will lead and oversee all warehousing operations to ensure optimal efficiency, safety, and compliance with company policies and legislative requirements. This role involves direct accountability for managing inbound and outbound freight, maintaining inventory integrity, and coordinating storage, logistics, and distribution activities. The Warehouse Supervisor will also play a key role in fostering a safe, well-organized, and collaborative team environment.

Education and Experience Requirements :

  • Education :  Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience :  Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar leadership role within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Hands-on experience with  SAP  or other  ERP systems  is required.
  • Proficient in  Microsoft Office Suite  (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
  • Previous experience managing  third-party logistics providers  is an asset.
  • Strong leadership competencies, including  communication skills, problem-solving abilities , and  conflict resolution  expertise.

Warehouse Operations & Inventory Management :

  • Oversee the receipt, handling, storage, and distribution of all products, supplies, and freight across corporate warehouses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate shipment of production orders in compliance with established delivery schedules.
  • Monitor and maintain inventory levels to meet both internal production needs and external customer demands.
  • Identify and address inventory discrepancies through timely investigations and corrective actions.
  • Conduct regular inventory spot-checks and reconcile records.
  • Logistics & Space Optimization :

  • Plan warehouse layout and optimize space utilization to enhance productivity, minimize damages, and prevent loss of inventory.
  • Ensure efficient allocation of warehouse space based on product turnover, size, weight, and storage requirements.
  • Recommend and facilitate the procurement of necessary equipment (e.g., forklifts, trailers, crash pads) to improve operational efficiency.
  • Compliance & Safety :

  • Develop, enforce, and maintain compliance with corporate policies, including health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) standards.
  • Actively communicate and promote HSSE initiatives, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Maintain detailed and up-to-date documentation for regulated or hazardous materials, adhering to all regulatory guidelines.
  • Performance Management :

  • Monitor and implement operational performance metrics for shipping, receiving, and inventory functions.
  • Investigate and resolve issues related to lost or damaged shipments, ensuring prompt corrective actions.
  • Communicate delays, variances, or other logistical challenges to relevant stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Team Leadership :

  • Supervise daily activities of warehouse staff, providing mentorship, direction, and performance feedback.
  • Foster an atmosphere of teamwork and accountability, while actively addressing conflicts and promoting staff engagement.
