Reporting to the AVP, Unsecured Lending and Credit Cards, the Product Manager is responsible for establishing the strategic direction of Laurentian Bank’s products and service offerings.

This includes optimizing the performance of existing products and expanding the bank’s product / service offering. The incumbent is also responsible for developing strategic and business objectives for product offer development, inclusive of the detailed logistical planning required to take a new product, service, feature or offer from concept to market.

The launch of new products, campaigns and services is the primary focus of this role. #LI-Hybrid

Responsibilities

  • Lead the introduction of new products and services inclusive of client experience mapping, product specification development, launch strategy design, business case development and detailed financial analysis
  • Analyze and evaluate new and existing products in terms of market potential, relevance, competitive differentiation, channel, and alignment with Laurentian Bank's business objectives.
  • Establish long- and short-term strategic goals through the development of a 3-year product roadmap and annual planning.
  • Optimize product performance to support the bank's growth and profit targets.
  • Anticipate and identify emerging trends impacting the business and / or product performance to develop appropriate response strategies.
  • Keep abreast of changes in regulations in order to ensure that the department's procedures, projects and practices evolve accordingly.
  • Serve as product champion, ensuring organizational alignment against product objectives.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in a related field and 4 to 6 years of product development & management experience or College Diploma in a related field and 7 to 10 years of product development & management experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of financial services experience (Personal lending products - In-depth experience in the unsecured lending space - Personal Loans, Personal LOCs, Student Loans, RRSP Loans, Car Loans etc.).
  • Demonstrated experience with market evaluations, financial analysis, business case development, product pricing, new product design, and planning.
  • Demonstrated experience in strategy development and launching new products
  • Self-motivated and results oriented individual with strong leadership, decision-making, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Creative, strategic thinker who challenges the status quo.
  • A highly effective communicator with well-developed presentation skills.
  • Strong relationship management, negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting established timelines.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite applications (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with data management tools such as SQL, Tableau is an asset
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies is an asset.
  • Demonstrated ability in core and role specific competencies including teamwork, adaptability, customer service, planning, presentation, analytical, decision-making skills.
  • Bilingual (French / English) verbal and written communication skills are assets.
