We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist for a Long Term Care home client in London , Ontario. The Occupational Therapist will work closely with residents to help improve their activities of daily living.
Schedule : 4-5 Hours per week
Job Duties :
- Conduct OT / ADP assessments for residents per College standards, develop individualized treatment plans, and document all progress notes in the facility’s health record system
- Complete feeding assessments for residents
- Complete assessments for falls prevention and Least Restraints, including reviews of bed rails
- Work with the Physiotherapist and Nursing staff in regards to wound management (ex : positioning, lifting and transferring
- Work with multi-disciplinary team to make recommendations with respect to other interventions or treatments (ex : Restorative Care, Pain Management, Contingence Management), and ensure the interventions follow best practices
Qualifications :
Must be registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario, and must have ADP AuthorizerMust have Professional License InsuranceExcellent interpersonal and listening skills while interacting with residents or their familiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience working in a Long Term Care home would be a definite assetCurrent police check for the Vulnerable Sector is required
