McCain is embarking on a digital transformation. As part of this transformation, we are making significant investments into our data structures and policies to increase the quality of our data, the confidence of our business teams to use this data to make decisions and drive value through the use of data.
We have a new and ambitious global Data & Analytics group, which serves as a resource to the business teams in our regions and global functions.
We are currently recruiting a talented individual to join our team in the role of Global Data Analyst, with a capability focus on the insights that can be pulled from data.
JOB PURPOSE :
Reporting to the Director, Global Analytics, the Senior Global Data Analyst is part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team that brings together individuals with a wide range of experiences in business and technology.
This challenging role requires strong business knowledge and knowledge of what's possible from data and digital tools. This role focuses on a general set of analytics capabilities, including the discovery of capabilities that McCain will look to in the future.
The role is expected to operate as a leader within McCain's analytics community, helping set the future-looking analytics agenda and building capabilities across the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Requirement Gathering : Conduct requirements analysis with business stakeholders, and communicate technical requirements to the development team Understand requirements and propose further technical solutions beyond what the business owner may initially conceptualize Lead data discovery to ensure project viability Operate between D&A leadership, business sponsors, and technical developers
- End-to-End Analytics Development : Lead the end-to-end development of analytics tools, including discovery, data modelling, analytics development, visualization, feedback iteration, and full automation Develop analytics directly, with independence Lead interaction with data owners, business sponsors, and in many cases key users Resolve any roadblocks and issues that could impact timelines Ensure quality assurance through user testing and feedback iteration
- Systems Design : Work directly with the Global Data Platforms team to support architecture design that effectively interfaces with BI systems and applications
- Future Analytics Capability Discovery : Lead our efforts to identify and gain adoption of new analytics capabilities that can drive value across McCain regions and functions
- Learning and Development : Remain current with the latest analytics tools systems that can further McCain's analytical agenda
KEY QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCES :
- 2 - 6 years of experience working in data-driven environments
- Nice to have : Experience setting priorities and directly leading others
- Digital Skills Requirement : Competence in Power BI report development, or a proven deep proficiency in similar tools Understanding of SQL or any other programming languages such as Python, R, or SAS
- Data Literacy and Communication Understanding of how data systems are designed and ability to work with data engineers Ability to connect data to business insights for non-technical audiences Ability to translate non-technical business requirements into technical solutions
- Change Management Comfortable working with business stakeholders across a range of experience with data and analytics Able to establish a case for change and "sell" an idea Able to explain data concepts in a way that is approachable and compelling
- Project Management : defining and shaping your own agenda Experience with managing and influencing executive-level audiences, including meeting facilitation, hypothesis generation and delivering conclusions A documented history of successfully driving projects to completion Strong communication skills
