Who you are : Finance Manager
Finance Manager
Reporting to the Senior Vice-President Finance and Taxation, this individual is responsible for managing, organizing and reporting on the financial portfolio of our shareholders.
The Finance Manager is tasked with overseeing cash management, treasury services, financial reporting and investment planning.
Investment Oversight :
As one of the company’s main liaisons between banks, investment managers and our shareholders, the Finance manager is proficient at building and maintaining internal and external relationships, reviewing and recommending revisions to investment strategies to reflect changes in market conditions or shareholder circumstances, monitoring investment performance, assisting with asset allocations and planning investment strategies for excess cash.
Social Impact Investing Management :
Support a small group of socially responsible investors who seek opportunities to align their investing strategy with their philanthropic goals.
Create and maintain a pipeline of potential deals, build a deep network of social impact investing partners and ensure the investors have access to support through educational opportunities and mentorships.
Guide the decision-making process, providing tools, resources and information about deal potential based on the investment criteria.
Reporting Oversight :
Manage a Junior Financial Analyst, ensuring the preparation of accurate net worth statements, cash flow forecasts and liquidity reports.
Prepare materials for quarterly meetings including performance reports, market updates and investment recommendations. Prepare semi-annual reporting for private company investments.
Ensure that the financial assets of the shareholders are structured in compliance with their financial goals and objectives.
Treasury Oversight :
Oversee the company’s treasury operations, monitoring and reporting on the activity of numerous entities and ensuring time sensitive transactions are completed.
Develop, maintain and monitor treasury policy and procedures to maximize the security and integrity of operations. Communicate treasury strategies and performance to senior management and shareholders.
Mitigate financial and credit risks by assessing interest and foreign exchange rates. Optimize cash balances to maximize interest income and minimize borrowing costs.
Govern the on-line banking platform. Maintain relationships with banking partners.
Investment Committee :
Participate in Investment Committee meetings acting as the secretary. Take minutes at the quarterly Investment Committee meetings and manage action items.
Prepare some of the Investment Committee documents in a timely manner.

Education : The successful candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting, economics or finance.
CFP designation would be considered an asset.
Experience : A minimum of five years’ experience in a Finance-related role.
