Salary range is $116,941 to a control point of $155,922.

The College of New Caledonia (CNC) has been dedicated to helping meet the adult and post-secondary educational needs of northern British Columbians since 1969. CNC plays an important role in training and educating students in health sciences, trades and technologies, social services, business and university studies.

THE OPPORTUNITY : DEAN OF HEALTH SCIENCES

Reporting to the VP, Academic, the Dean of Health Sciences (“Dean”) plays a pivotal leadership role in fostering academic excellence, student success, and community engagement. The Dean will oversee multiple academic programs, ensuring alignment with the College’s mission, strategic goals, and community needs.

Key Responsibilities :

• Articulates a shared vision, mission and goals for the School, consistent with the College’s Strategic and Academic Plans.
• Participates in advising, coordinating, and decision-making on College-wide operational and strategic matters.
• Develops operating procedures, policies, and communications within the School.
• Mentors faculty, staff, and Associate Deans with respect to institutional policies and procedures.
• Ensures the quality and integrity of programs and academic offerings within the School.
• Champions initiatives that promote equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging across the institution.
• Ensures compliance with academic standards, accreditation requirements, and legislation.

THE PERSON :

The ideal candidate should be a humble, skilled leader who is well experienced with the complexities of post-secondary administration. The Dean should leverage their experience with healthcare service providers, licensors, and partners to build relevant, world-class educational offerings for students.
