Description
Building and operating a small or sole law practice brings a litany of challenges. While many of these challenges are shared with lawyers in other business models, the necessity of performing, leading, and managing every aspect of the business is unique to legal entrepreneurship.
Through readings, guest lectures, discussions, and practical assignments, this course will explore the key issues in running an ethical, professional, and viable small practice.

Requirements :
The Common Law Section is seeking candidates who are leaders in the legal profession. An LL.B., J.D., or equivalent is required for this position.
Membership in the Law Society of Ontario in good standing is also required. The successful candidate will have significant practical experience working in or operating a small or solo law practice.
Prior teaching experience will be considered an asset.
The Common Law Section reserves the right to select a candidate who does not fully meet each of these requirements, where the candidate’s selection would be beneficial to the program, the course, the students or for a related reason.
Additional Information and / or Comments :
This course is offered during the January intensive session and not in the winter session. Candidates must be able to teach each day for the month of January.
An acceptable level of education and / or experience could be viewed as being equivalent to the educational required and / or demonstrated experience.
