The Manager of Corporate and Financial Communications will play a key role in preparing financial communications materials, handling media relations, and supporting corporate reputation initiatives as part of the Global Communications team for our finance client.
This role is integral in supporting each Quarterly Results release and other high-priority corporate communication efforts.
This is a 12-month contract which has a hybrid requirement. The Communications Leader will work onsite at our client's office 3 days per week at our client's office in midtown Toronto.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Global Communications team members to execute media relations strategies for each Quarterly Results cycle, and identify thought leadership opportunities for the Chief Financial Officer throughout the year.
- Draft news releases, key messages, and Q&A documents to support media engagement and external communication around corporate and financial priorities.
- Contribute to corporate reputation initiatives by creating briefs on emerging issues, developing key messages, and implementing timely responses to critical matters.
- Assist in crafting communications materials (talking points, speeches, letters) for the Annual Reporting results cycle and Annual General Meeting.
- Develop and implement proactive and reactive strategic communication plans, working with stakeholders to protect the company’s reputation and manage active and emerging issues.
- Support governance across reputation efforts within the Global Communications team, including regular issue tracking and maintaining a shared document repository.
Qualifications
- Minimum of five years in a communications role.
- 5+ years of experience with quarterly earnings communications in financial services.
- Strong project management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, media relations databases, and tools such as Cision, Factiva, PublicRelay, LexisNexis, and other media monitoring / analytics platforms.
- Experience providing communications support to senior leadership.
- Experience with Microsoft Teams distribution.
- Background in a publicly traded company is preferred.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative and strategic thinker with strong judgment and conceptual abilities.
- Ability to influence across multiple levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated ability to use data and analytics to inform communication strategies.
- High attention to detail.
