Role Summary : The Millwright / Mechanic is a senior level assembly position with extensive knowledge and experience with a diverse range of rotating equipment including, but not limited to, BBx, OHx, vertical pumps, small compressors, and other high energy pumps. The Millwright / Mechanic will work with team leads to execute work as provided on work instructions, routers, drawings, and checklists. The Millwright / Mechanic can independently select and use inspection equipment to check dimensions of all critical components during the assembly and repair process. Ensures all components are properly cleaned and free from foreign material following our FME (Foreign Material Exclusion) procedures. Ensures all forms and documentation is complete with photos as required. The Millwright / Mechanic will paint, install all tagging, and prep the pump prior to shipment to the customer.
This role has a rotating schedule (1st shift for 6 weeks then 2nd shift for 3).
First shift is : 7 : 30am – 4pm. (Monday – Friday)
Second shift is : 4pm – 2am. (Monday – Thursday)
Location is Leduc, Alberta

Responsibilities
- Work safely while helping colleagues work safely and utilizing Stop Work Authority when appropriate.
- Follow pre-job brief and checklists prior to assembly.
- Ability to independently repair and assemble BBx, OHx, Vertical Pumps, API pumps, ANSI pumps, Vacuum pumps, and other specialized high energy rotating equipment.
- Significant experience with the proper and safe use of various common power and hand tools needed to assemble rotating equipment.
- Utilize torches (and other heat sources) and liquid nitrogen properly and safely in the assembly process.
- Follow all routers and assembly procedures needed to accurately repair and assemble rotating equipment.
- Willing to provide input on router and work process improvement.
- Interface with production planners and customers to discuss the condition of all critical pump components when necessary.
- Lead and participate in Pre-Job briefs with team leads and peers to understand job expectations.
- Inspect and verify quality of finished and in-process work with precision measurement tools (i.e. micrometers, dial indicators, calipers, etc.)
- Clearly document critical or indicated fits and dimensions in decimal form on checklists and inspection documents – including taking photos as needed.
- Run balance machine to proper balance rotating components and assemblies.
- Paint, tag, and prep the pump prior to shipment to the customer.
- Conduct low pressure air tests and high-pressure hydrostatic tests.
- Communicate clearly to peers and supervisors any related job issues.
- Ability to work efficiently within fixed time windows for each manufacturing process.
- Willingness to work with local team on developing new tools and hardware as part of on-going Continuous Improvement projects within the facility.
- Utilize cranes, lifting devices, and fork trucks.
- Comply with all Flowserve policies and procedures, specifically around time and attendance, safety, and productivity.
