Our client, a leading telecommunications company, is hiring a Director of Mobile Engineering to lead a team of developers and drive the organization’s core experience. This role focuses on creating exceptional user experiences across iOS, Android, and Web platforms.

Reporting to the VP of Engineering, the position requires an unwavering focus on innovation, working closely with the product team to deliver features that surpass expectations.

Candidates must possess expertise in iOS, Android, Web, and backend development, with a strong preference for experience in VoIP or messaging technologies.

What You'll Do :

  • Lead a diverse team of Engineering Managers, analysts, and developers specializing in front-end, back-end, and multi-platform systems to deliver cutting-edge Core Messaging and Voice solutions for clients.
  • Design and execute engineering strategies for iOS, Android, and backend platforms, ensuring seamless customer-focused experiences.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management to create and implement innovative features tailored to customer needs.
  • Convert product requirements into actionable technical plans and oversee their successful execution, prioritizing quality and timeliness.
  • Track application performance using key metrics, identify optimization opportunities, and implement targeted improvements.
  • Enhance development workflows by introducing efficiencies and adhering to industry-leading practices.
  • Build and nurture a top-tier engineering team, fostering growth and leadership to achieve technical excellence.

What You'll Need :

  • 10 years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on mobile platforms, including Android and iOS.
  • 5 years of experience leading and managing software engineering teams.
  • Extensive knowledge of mobile app ecosystems, including iOS, Android, and their backend systems, as well as mobile design, development, and deployment processes.
  • A strong product-oriented approach to problem-solving and development.
  • Proven ability to lead and deliver complex, large-scale technical projects.
  • Expertise in Agile methodologies and managing distributed development teams.
  • Skilled in defining and implementing KPIs to optimize software development processes and promote best practices.
  • A visionary technology leader with a talent for mentoring and cultivating innovation within engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with Voice over IP (VoIP) and messaging technologies (SMS, text, RCS) is advantageous but not essential.
